Italian families are big (huge), loud, fun, and full of love. When my older cousin, Mike, announced he was engaged to a beautiful Italian girl, I prayed I was going to be invited to the wedding. But, he did me one even better! He called me up and asked me to help design their custom wedding Save the Dates and invitations!
Well, Italians are also known for their short tempers and amazing abilities to hold grudges and 'never forget'. I've learned this from many years of personal experience; let me tell you!
I better not mess this one up... ;)
All kidding aside, I was honored to be a part of their wedding day in this way. Anything I could do to help, I was game!
We started with the Save the Dates. The bride, Cassie, is amazing and was so helpful throughout the whole process. She had great ideas of what she was looking for. She knew she wanted a classic, traditional feel, but with playful elements added into the design.
Cassie and Mike decided on a more traditional font paired with hand illustrated calligraphy of their names and date. They also liked the idea of incorporating the shape of Pennsylvania into the design which held a calendar of the month of June. We highlighted the date with a fun heart outline.
We finished off the design and printed it on a 100% cotton paper for a soft feel. Cassie and Mike selected a grey and light green to evoke the colors late spring.
The Save the Dates turned out very classic, yet playful. Just like this beautiful couple. We cannot wait for their wedding in early June! Stay tuned for another post on their beautiful stationery suite.
